 Цели урока:

 

Обучающие:

  • Познакомить учащихся с героями произведения
  • Отработать лексику для описания внешности и характера героев произведения
  • Совершенствовать навыки пересказа с выражением личной точки зрения по поводу прочитанного

 

Развивающие:        

  • Прививать интерес к чтению произведений в оригинале

  • Формировать умение работать с партнером

 

Тип урока: урок актуализации знаний и умений

  • Портреты Даниеля Дефо, Робинзона Крузо и Пятницы (интерактивная доска)

Whole class: Show students the portrait of Defoe. Ask them to name some facts from his biography.

Write the words ‘DOMINATION’ and ‘SUBORDINATION’ on the board. Ask students to come up with a definition for them.

 

Pair-work: Show students the portraits of Robinson and Friday. Ask students who they think the words ‘domination’ and ‘subordination’ are associated with.

 

You may ask students to find the definitions in the dictionary.

Task4.  Give a brief description of Friday’s appearance which reveals his personality. Include information about his facial features, body shape, way of walking and speaking.

 

Task5.  Focus on the relationships between Robinson and Friday. Do you think Robinson wishes to prevail over Friday? Why (not)?

Write 2-3-5 sentences to express your point of view on the relationships of Robinson and Friday.

 

Homework

Write a short physical description (50-70 words) which reveals the personality aspects of one of the following character types:

  • Someone who is sly and cunning.
  • Someone who is self-conscious and shy.
